What will you do? Make an impact!

Main purpose of job: 
Together with the Site Management Team and under the direction of the Shift Manager all aspects of production of Cemfuel, on the Heysham site. This includes continuous improvement, cost control within the defined area of responsibility. Responsible for the safe operation of the Cemfuel at the Heysham site and for ensuring any potential accidents or environmental incidents are minimised. Liaison with the kilns and Transport department on a daily basis to ensure the kiln customer’s requirements for Cemfuel are met.
 

Do you have what it takes?

Tasks will include:
•    The loading and un-loading of bulk materials for SLF blending and despatch to kiln. 
•    Operation (incl start-up and shut-down) of SLF blending plant and associated duties, whilst adhering to correct procedures and Health and Safety regulations.  
•    To report any, actual or potential, unsafe incident/action to the Shift manager. Also to take immediate and appropriate corrective action to make the situation safe before reporting via the Near Miss system.
•    As directed by the Shift Manager, following and completing daily shift instructions.
•    Operation of Site vehicles, including Fork lift trucks.
•    Completion of all relevant documentation, both onto paperwork and also computer data-entry eg, into SAP and any relevant spreadsheets.

 

Knowledge: 
•    Chemical awareness
•    Experience of the hazardous waste industry and in particular acid/alkali neutralisation processes would be desirable.
