The EC&I Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems across plant or site operations. This role ensures that all systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and industry standards.

 

What you’ll be doing

 

•    Maintenance & Repairs – Carry out planned and corrective maintenance on electrical and instrumentation systems, ensuring minimal downtime.
•    Instrumentation & Automation – Install, commission, calibrate, and troubleshoot instruments (pressure, temperature, level, flow) and automation systems including PLCs and SCADA.
•    Electrical Systems – Support maintenance of motors, switchgear, and power distribution panels, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
•    Documentation & Compliance – Maintain accurate records and update technical documentation such as wiring and loop diagrams.
•    Project & Emergency Support – Assist with shutdowns, system upgrades, and emergency callouts, contributing to 24/7 operational support as needed.

Do you have what it takes?

•    NVQ Level 3 / HNC / HND in Electrical, Instrumentation or Control Systems.
•    18th Edition electrical certification.
•    Experience in a similar EC&I role.
•    Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
•    Proficient with test equipment and reading technical drawings.
•    Good understanding of safety procedures and Permit to Work systems.
•    Effective communicator and team player.
•    Willing to work shifts, on-call, and in hazardous environments.

 

Desirable:

 

•    Calibration experience.
•    Able to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.
