Position: Maintenance Technician
Location: Fawley

The role
- To be responsible for ensuring that appropriate repair and maintenance requirements are identified and undertaken as necessary to maintain plant availability.
- Advise management on safety issues.
- Carry out a risk assessment and method statement for routine and defect maintenance tasks as required.
- Maintain a good standard of housekeeping.
- Responsible for determining and executing repair and preventative maintenance on mechanical machinery.
- Help other maintenance colleagues with routine tasks or major overhauls.
- Provide mechanical maintenance support to maximise plant operation.
- Provide support to the Engineering Department as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
- Recommend modifications or maintenance procedures that enhance departmental performance.
- Assist in the plant maintenance shutdown period.
Essential Skills
- NVQ Level III or HNC in mechanical maintenance.
- At least 5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance and installation.
- Proven experience of refurbishing pumps (centrifugal, piston, mono), conveyors, elevators, shredders, hydraulics, filter presses, bearings, gear boxes, fans, etc.
- Good knowledge of health and safety legislation.
- Knowledge of DCS, ESD, and PLC based control systems.
- Good communication skills and being a team player.
- Valid Driving Licence.
- Trained or experienced FLT Driver.
