Position: Maintenance Technician

Location: Fawley

The role

 

  • To be responsible for ensuring that appropriate repair and maintenance requirements are identified and undertaken as necessary to maintain plant availability.
  • Advise management on safety issues.
  • Carry out a risk assessment and method statement for routine and defect maintenance tasks as required.
  • Maintain a good standard of housekeeping.
  • Responsible for determining and executing repair and preventative maintenance on mechanical machinery.
  • Help other maintenance colleagues with routine tasks or major overhauls.
  • Provide mechanical maintenance support to maximise plant operation.
  • Provide support to the Engineering Department as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Recommend modifications or maintenance procedures that enhance departmental performance.
  • Assist in the plant maintenance shutdown period.

 

Essential Skills

 

  • NVQ Level III or HNC in mechanical maintenance. 
  • At least 5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance and installation.
  • Proven experience of refurbishing pumps (centrifugal, piston, mono), conveyors, elevators, shredders, hydraulics, filter presses, bearings, gear boxes, fans, etc.
  • Good knowledge of health and safety legislation.
  • Knowledge of DCS, ESD, and PLC based control systems. 
  • Good communication skills and being a team player.
  • Valid Driving Licence.
  • Trained or experienced FLT Driver.
