Health and Safety
Demonstrate appropriate Health and Safety leadership to ensure that the corporate PROUD ethos is visible and promoted throughout all activities carried out at the site.
• Enforce Tradebe Procedures
• Ensure correct PPE worn on site at all times
• Ensure all duties are carried out safely and compliantly
• Observe all operations and report any near miss/accidents/incidents/non-conformance
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repairs
- Assist in routine maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Support troubleshooting and fault-finding on machinery and automated systems.
- Repair or replace defective components such as motors, sensors, relays, bearings, belts, and gearboxes.
- Assist in servicing hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Electrical Systems
- Support installation and testing of wiring, control panels, and electrical circuits.
- Assist in diagnosing electrical faults using testing equipment (multimeters, insulation testers, etc.).
- Learn to interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Follow electrical safety standards and lockout/tagout procedures.
Mechanical Systems
- Assist with dismantling and reassembly of mechanical equipment.
- Conduct lubrication, alignment, and calibration of machinery.
- Support preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
Documentation, Learning & Development
- Complete maintenance logs and job reports accurately.
- Follow health & safety regulations and company policies.
- Attend classroom-based technical training as part of the apprenticeship program.
- Work towards achieving a recognized qualification in electro-mechanical engineering.
Skills:
• Strong interest in electrical and mechanical systems
• Basic understanding of hand and power tools
• PC literate, and capable of learning how to use new software systems
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Tidy and methodical approach to problems
