Main purpose of job:
Lead and manage a high performing team of Waste Acceptance Chemists, ensuring the team operates efficiently and that priorities are aligned with both site and wider company objectives. The successful candidate must also liaise closely with Customer Support, Technical Assessment, Laboratory and Operational teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Most importantly, the role holder must ensure full compliance with legislative requirements and the Company’s objectives, with a continual focus on maintaining and improving performance in the areas of Safety, Quality, and Environment, in respect of their team.
Do you have what it takes?
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing cover for the Waste Acceptance Manager (as required), act as the direct line manager for the site chemist team, ensuring their performance, development and workload is monitored and supported and acting as a single point of contact for Operations, Management, Lab, Customer Service and Delivery teams.
Essential Skills/Knowledge/Qualifications
- Degree, or equivalent, in Chemistry or a closely related subject
- Knowledge of H&S and Environmental legislation as related to the Company's activities.
- Chemical problem-solving skills
- Good communication and team building skills
Desirable Skills/Knowledge/Qualifications
- FLT Licence
- IOSH Managing Safety
- Experience of working in waste management
