Plant Supervisor - 1st Shift

The Opportunity

The Plant Supervisor supervises 2 or more employees in an assigned area of the plant.  The position provides work direction of employees to operate and maintain wastewater treatment, processing, disposal, and testing to meet operational and permit requirements. 

Key Job Responsibilities

•    Provide work direction to assigned plant personnel
•    Complete duties following policies and procedures
•    Monitor control panels and adjust valves
•    Monitor flow meters, gauges, and other related controls
•    Troubleshoot basic operational issues, taking corrective action per operating procedures
•    Report variances as directed and take corrective actions
•    Follow all health and safety rules, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment for all tasks
•    Work in compliance with our permits
•    Train other employees at the plant
•    Other duties as required

Qualifications

•    3-5 years experience in Waste Water Operations or Environmental Field 
•    Knowledge of RCRA, DOT and OSHA regulations required
•    Excellent communication skills to interact with all levels of Management
•    Must be available to work nights/weekends/holidays as needed
•    Must be able to respond to emergency calls, and work to accommodate site needs
•    The successful candidate must successfully complete HAZWOPER training; must have an OSHA/HAZWOPER physical examination 
•    Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical; must pass a pre-employment background check; and must be able to obtain a physician certification to wear a respirator.    
•    Obtains state Wastewater Treatment license or acquire within one year of employment.
