Job Summary - Mission

 

Reporting to the EVP of Operations for the Midwest, the Plant Manager will lead all aspects of operations at our Milwaukee facility, driving efficiency, compliance, and profitability. With critical oversight of the plant’s P&L, EHS compliance, and production performance, you will ensure the facility meets key operational and financial objectives.

 

Success in this role requires a strategic leader capable of forecasting, planning, and executing plant enhancements while fostering a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement. You will collaborate across departments and Tradebe locations, utilizing your expertise in the environmental services industry to optimize operations. 

 

By balancing time between the plant floor and the office, you’ll proactively address operational challenges, support employee development, and drive overall performance. Additionally, you will lead and mentor a team of four direct reports, ensuring their growth and alignment with organizational goals.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee Receiving, Lab, and Shipping departments and ensure proper waste disposal, schedule outbound shipments, and maintain inventory levels.
  • Optimize staffing and collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, and Logistics to drive efficiency and process improvements.


Financial & Resource Management

  • Manage P&L, control costs, and align expenses with budget and revenue goals.
  • Meet weekly with Finance to analyze KPIs and ensure financial accountability.
  • Oversee capital budgets, project management, and verify disposal invoices for accuracy.


EHS & Regulatory Compliance

  • Lead regulatory inspections and ensure compliance with EPA, WDNR, OSHA, and DOT regulations.
  • Drive a strong safety culture through training, committees, and best practices.
  • Maintain RCRA Part B permit compliance and collaborate with EHS teams for continuous improvement.


People & Team Development

  • Build a positive work culture with engagement, retention, and morale-boosting initiatives.
  • Mentor employees to support career growth and company success.
  • Partner with People & Culture to implement employee engagement programs.

Qualifications

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field

 

Experience: 

  • Five (5) years of site management experience in a plant environment required  
  • Minimum of five (5) years of environmental (or related industry) experience required
  • Five (5) years of TSDF operational experience is preferred
  • Successful completion of Hazwoper training preferred; successful completion upon hire required

Other: Must obtain a physician certification to wear a respirator
