Industrial Waste Operations Manager

The Opportunity

 

As a Technical Services Operations Manager with Tradebe you will oversee the day-to-day operations of a team of chemists and drivers who handle our lab packing business. This individual will ideally have industry experience directly dealing with hazardous waste and have extensive knowledge on hazardous waste profiles. This is an on-site position and can require some local travel.  

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Manage schedule(s) for Field Chemists and Drivers 
  • Provide Sales, Plant Operations, and Customer Service teams with technical support regarding lab packs   
  • Schedule projects such as lab cleanouts and plant closures.  
  • Ensure all field operations are conducted in accordance with appropriate regulations (EPA, OSHA, and DOT) as well as with Tradebe procedures  
  • Manage logistics in and out of the Service Center as well as deliveries into disposal facilities  
  • Ensure compliance of the 10-day facility  
  • Manage HHW (household Hazardous Waste) events including organization of the team, setup and breakdown of the site, assigning duties to chemists and communicating with customers on site 
  • Ensure Tradebe’s level of service performance as it relates to meeting all requirements based on contractual obligations 
  • Act as a local Health and Safety representative by driving H&S compliance for the team  
  • Act as a back-up for Field Chemists who are out of the office, going to generator sites to complete technical service projects as needed  
  • Ensure office is equipped with all stocks needed by Field Chemists, including drums, drum-handling tools, diamonds, PPE, etc.   
  • Other responsibilities as needed  

Qualifications

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field is preferred  
  • Minimum three (3) years Field Chemist experience 
  • Minimum one (1) year managerial experience 
  • Experience pricing and quoting the scope of projects  
  • Extensive knowledge of EPA and DOT regulations   
  • Previous experience managing a diverse team is a plus 
  • Intermediate proficiency with Excel and Word 
  • Ability to present technical information 
  • Excellent organization skills   
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight timelines
