What will you do? Make an impact!
Reporting to the Divisional People and Culture Manager, you will act as a credible business-oriented solution provider and trusted partner in relation to people, culture, and human resources needs supporting the Northeast Region which consists of 3 processing plants located in Meriden CT, Bridgeport, CT and Stoughton, MA, mechanic truck shop in Meriden, CT, and Field Services team located in Berlin, CT. You will be involved with the talent agenda, employee experience, union needs, compensation reviews, employee relations, investigations, and succession planning for your respective area. Operating day-to-day as part of the local leadership teams the ideal candidate will be able to think both operationally and strategically. You will take responsibility for driving people outcomes you should be a doer, problem solver, team builder, and an effective communicator with a passion for serving others.
Key Job Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary People & Culture contact for employees and managers in the region

Partner with leaders to align HR strategies with business goals and operational needs

Provide guidance on organizational design, workforce planning, and succession planning to support growth and operational efficiency.

Analyze People & Culture metrics to drive engagement, retention, and performance
-
Manage employee relations, investigations, conflict resolution, and corrective actions
-
Support union-related matters, compensation reviews, and compliance initiatives
-
Collaborate with EHS to promote a strong safety culture

Lead onboarding, orientations, and exit interviews
-
Oversee and manage leaves of absence (FMLA, LOA, WC, STD, LTD)

Implement company-wide People programs locally and champion employee
Do you have what it takes?
Must Have:
-
Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field
-
3–5+ years of HR experience
-
Strong Excel and presentation skills; confident facilitator
-
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel by car or plane
-
Ability to build trust, solve problems, and influence at all levels
Nice to Have:
-
HRIS experience (SuccessFactors, Paycor)
-
Experience in a union environment
Work Environment
Primarily office-based with occasional travel required. This is a hybrid position that allows you to work from home two days per week.
