Job Summary - Mission

 

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Process Engineer will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and maintaining wastewater treatment processes to ensure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective operations. This role will have a multi-site influence, working primarily out of the Meriden, CT wastewater treatment plant while also driving process improvements for systems in Bridgeport, CT, and Stoughton, MA. 

 

The ideal candidate will have expertise in wastewater treatment systems and industrial plant equipment, with a strong focus on process optimization. This position requires a mechanically inclined problem-solver who can work independently while collaborating with plant leadership and operations teams to implement impactful process improvements from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

Process Optimization & Performance

  • Monitor, evaluate, and optimize wastewater treatment processes for efficiency and compliance.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance system performance.
  • Identify inefficiencies related to throughput volumes and develop processes to stabilize plant operations while maximizing efficiencies.
  • Assist in implementing operating procedures to improve system performance and reliability.
  • Operate and monitor biological systems, including anaerobic digesters, to ensure its health, and optimize performance. 

 

Technical Support & Documentation

  • Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams to enhance process effectiveness.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues to minimize downtime.
  • Prepare reports and documentation on process performance and continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Regulatory Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and quality standards.
  • Assist in managing processes that promote the health and safety of employees.

Qualifications

 

Education

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field
  • WWT certification preferred

 

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with industrial wastewater treatment required; 3-5 years preferred. 
  • Knowledge of industrial plant equipment including pumps, valves, and gauges 
  • Previous experience with biological systems including anaerobic digestors
  • Knowledge of the hazardous waste industry is a plus.

 

Other

  • Must be able to wear a full-face respirator 
  • Ability to occasionally travel to other Tradebe Northeast plants

  • Selected candidates who have completed the application will be invited to schedule a 30-minute screening call with of our talented Recruiters.
  • Next, candidates will be scheduled for a 1 hour on site interview with the Director of Operations and Regional HR Manager.
  • Finally, candidates will be scheduled for a 30 minute interview via Teams with the EVP of Operations for the Northeast.
