As a Mechanic Helper, you'll play an important role in keeping parts, tools, and equipment organized and available while assisting mechanics with day-to-day maintenance activities that help keep plant operations running efficiently and safely.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver parts, materials, and supplies from vendors and dealerships
• Receive, inspect, organize, and store incoming parts and maintenance materials
• Maintain parts inventory, stock levels, and accurate records within the parts room
• Perform housekeeping and general upkeep of the shop, yard, equipment, and material staging areas
• Assist mechanics with equipment inspections, repairs, and maintenance support activities
• Operate forklifts, lift trucks, and powered lift equipment as needed
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements to maintain a safe work environment
• Other duties as assigned

Do you have what it takes?

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work-related experience
• Experience working in an industrial maintenance, repair shop, warehouse, or parts room environment
• Forklift operation experience; forklift certification is a plus
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand and power tools preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand or walk for extended periods, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to follow directions, read maps, work independently, and safely navigate a large industrial facility
