Diesel Mechanic

As a Diesel Mechanic you will perform scheduled preventive maintenance and repairs on trucks, trailers, tankers, and other various types of commercial vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repairs on a variety of equipment, including trucks, trailers, and tankers.
- Complete preventative maintenance and light repairs on trailers, vans, and other fleet equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, brake, and hydraulic systems.
- Support a range of shop work, including trailer repairs, light fabrication/body work, and component replacements.
- Troubleshoot electrical and lighting systems, including ABS.
- Assist with general shop tasks and equipment maintenance in a hands-on, industrial environment.
- Work across multiple types of equipment (e.g., roll-offs, end dumps, chassis, forklifts, and excavators) as needed.
- Contribute as a versatile team member, handling a mix of duties beyond a single area of specialization.
- Perform annual/FHWA inspections on commercial vehicles
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, as well as assisting other mechanics on various assigned tasks
- Follow all regulations, standards, and internal policies, to ensure Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance and promote a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
- Utilize computers for diagnostics, and various computer software systems
- Accurately complete all task related paperwork
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned
Do you have what it takes?
- 1 + year of experience with heavy duty trucks and equipment
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must have your own tools
- Certifications in brakes, A/C, and wheel seals are a plus; hydraulic systems experience preferred.
- ASE certification desirable, not mandatory
- Knowledge of the DOT regulations
- Physically able to lift 60lbs
- Must be proficient with Microsoft suite products
- Able to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check
- Ability to work the schedule for which you are hired for
- Ability to work on-site as described in the job description
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
