Field Services Manager

The Opportunity
Responsible for overseeing and managing the delivery of field-based services to customers, ensuring efficiency, quality, and timeliness of service operations while driving new sales. The role includes coordinating a team of technicians or service personnel, managing customer relationships, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with service-level agreements. You will develop and execute a territorial business plan to secure new clients and contracts for Field Services, including tank cleaning, processing, and thermal oxidation work. Additionally, you must understand service capabilities to effectively communicate potential recycling goals and initiatives to customers and prospects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the environmental service industry, specifically in field services.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Foster a culture of safety by prioritizing and ensuring compliance with all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures.
- Manage the Laporte Shop.
- Off-load equipment upon return from job, review maintenance tickets and work with Field Service Regional Manager to PM equipment before returning to next job.
- Prep trucks with equipment to send out to next job.
- Take lead on de-gassing projects working with DVS and Field Service PMs.
- Use network of staffing agencies to staff Thermal Oxidizer (TO)/Tank cleaning projects
- Complete job walks to accurately scope and quote special projects and business development opportunities
- Work with Tradebe’s Contracts Group to develop and respond to RFIs/ RFQs and perform initial review of those RFIs/RFQs to determine whether Company should participate in those processes
- Conduct facility-wide compliance audits including inspections of staging, accumulating and storage areas to ensure proper housekeeping procedures and compliance.
- Focus on customers in the Gulf Region (TX, LA, MS and AL)
- Work with target customers to get on bid list for Thermal Oxidizer (TO) work focusing on customers that require TO and tank cleanings
- Grow terminal customers and/or tank cleaning customers currently not serviced by Tradebe
- Meet with purchasing to get a Master Service Agreement (MSA) or SPOT contract in place.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management and as required by the needs of the Tradebe business.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required; Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or Business Administration preferred
- Seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience in the environmental field services sector required.
- Three (3) or more years in the industrial cleaning or maintenance field required.
- Three (3) or more years of experience in Field Services, and/or Emergency Response Services required.
- Two (2) years of experience in scoping, quoting and selling traditional Field Services jobs.
- Ability to travel up to 75% or based on business need.
- Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively present the Company’s services and to establish long-term relationships gain customer growth and market share.
- Excellent persuasion and negotiation skills.
- Experience with SAP and FieldFX or similar field operations management system preferred.
