🧭 About the Role

As Product Sales Manager – Solvents, you will take the lead on all merchant material sales from our Sunderland and Rye sites. Your mission is to grow and develop our solvent sales in UK, European, and global markets — securing the best return for the business while identifying downstream growth opportunities.

You’ll work closely with internal teams (Supply Chain, Key Account Management, Trading, Site Operations, and Sales) and develop strong external customer relationships. This is a high-impact role for a proactive and entrepreneurial sales professional.

 

🚀 Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop product sales of solvents to UK, European, and worldwide markets.

  • Grow existing customer accounts and identify new business opportunities beyond Europe.

  • Set and negotiate solvent pricing based on key commodities and market references to maximize margin.

  • Promote sales directly to end users, ensuring accurate market intelligence and margin optimization.

  • Prepare and deliver clear monthly sales reports, including price benchmarking, contribution margin, and customer analyses.

  • Contribute to key business KPIs such as sales volume, margin generation, and EBITDA.

 

 

🧠 What You’ll Bring

  • Education: HNC or higher in a science or technical discipline.

  • Experience: Background in chemical distribution (ideally operating from Germany or with European exposure).

  • Strong analytical skills and market awareness to optimize pricing strategies.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, both internally and externally.

  • Advanced computer literacy (especially Excel and MS Office).

  • A self-starter mindset: organised, methodical, creative, and able to thrive under pressure.

  • Fluency in English is essential; Italian is highly desirable and German would be an advantage.

  • A valid driving licence is required.
