Transport Administrator

Profile

 

Transport administrators coordinate the movement of goods and products.They develop and implement procedures to efficiently administrate transportation services, schedules, and plan routes.

 

Responsibilities 

 

1. Deliver accurate service to hauliers whilst maintaining a friendly and professional approach at all times using all appropriate software applications.
2. Deal with all emails that come into the transport admin email box from hauliers, the transport office, or sales and admin staff. Dealing with any queries in a timely manner.
3. Deal with any telephone enquiries from the hauliers, accounts, admin or sales staff in a professional and timely manner.
4. Maintaining vendor and third party invoices within Basware. 

5.Raising requisitions.

6.Go through the Goods Receipting Report received on a weekly basis. 

7.Create Purchase Order Reports. 

8. Update Weekly spreadsheet. Check through data tab ensuring any missing weights, prices and purchase orders are added. 

9. Update Ocean Contract weekly spreadsheet. Check details on the spreadsheet making sure each line has a route code, and sales order or N/A.

10.Authorisation of demurrage charges from hauliers. 

11. Data should be logged on the month end accruals log. 

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in transportation management, project management, logistics, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years experience as a transportation administrator in a similar industry.
  • Advanced competency in transportation management or logistics software.
  • Extensive experience in processing shipping documents, orders, and payments.
  • Solid knowledge of transportation industry regulations.
  •  Time management and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and collaboration abilities.
  • Great problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Availability to resolve operational issues outside of business hours.
