Environmental Haz-Waste Technician

In this role, you will work at a customer's site performing on-site hazardous waste identification, segregation, packaging, stabilization, documentation, and shipment preparation in compliance with safety and regulatory standards for a client of Tradebe.

Responsibilities

• Follow all regulations, standards, and internal policies, to ensure Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance and promote a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
• Operate Forklift and Pallet jack to move waste to a centralized location
• Perform collection, segregation, and proper packaging of waste chemicals and materials for disposal to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance.
• Handle general onsite tasks, such as maintaining inventory of supplies and ensuring work areas are clean and organized.
• Assist with the consolidation of chemicals from various lab and other departments.
• Proper labelling of containers with pertinent DOT/EPA and TSD info.
• Understand customer specific disposal restrictions/special packaging requirements.
• Maintain supply of onsite PPE, shipping documents, labels, and other required supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Do you have what it takes?

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience operating a forklift and pallet jack
• 1+ years of hands-on experience with lab packing, chemical stabilization, or regulatory compliance activities is preferred
• Experience in waste management processes and procedures such as waste collection, satellite accumulation area management, 90-day storage area management, waste stream profiling, chemical segregation and waste disposal technologies is preferred
• Ability to wear a full-face respirator is required
• Ability to work onsite daily is required
• Ability to work the schedule for which you are hired for
• Ability to read, write, and understand English
