Training Manager

We are seeking a Training Manager who is passionate about developing people and driving performance through effective training programs. In this role, you will collaborate closely with all areas of site operations to identify skill gaps, design and implement impactful training initiatives, and track their effectiveness. You will be responsible for managing both new hire technical training and ongoing employee development programs, with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement. Your work will ensure our team has the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to succeed and grow within a high-performing environment.
This is full-time on-site based in our East Chicago, IN facility.
What You'll Do
Employee Training & Development
- Review existing departmental training, identify training gaps, and modify training to align with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Develop, create, and execute comprehensive operator training programs, training assessments, and a departmental skills matrix.
- Develop functional competencies for each department utilizing the SOPs.
- Create a framework for operator on-the-job training.
- Oversee needs assessments and skills gap analyses across departments.
- Communicate with departmental managers regarding training needs.
- Continuously research trends in workforce development and integrate best practices.
Quality Assurance
- Develop, implement, and improve competency assessment mechanisms across departments through collaboration with department managers and a deep understanding of each operational hourly role within the facility.
- Gather feedback from various parties, including but not limited to new hires, seasoned employees, managers, and other stakeholders, to drive initiatives that improve training quality in all areas.
- Take a strategic approach to auditing incidents, gaps, or plant trends and partner with department managers to systematically address them with appropriate training initiatives.
- Engage with all plant department managers on a regular basis to extract feedback and develop department-specific training as needed.
- Participate in the development of standard operating procedures within applicable plant departments on an as-needed basis.
What You'll Need
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science or related field preferred
Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year of industry experience.
- Experience in designing and implementing comprehensive training and development programs
Skills:
- Strong ability to collaborate professionally across departments and with all levels of employees
- Process Improvement mindset
- Analytical capabilities to assess and identify areas for improvement
- Proficient in MS Office, and KPA

- Finally, candidates will be informed of a decision.
