Job description

Supervise the performance and activity of the maintenance mechanics. This is a working supervisor role that would work side by side with techs and be there to supervise and train as needed. 
 Key job responsibilities 
•    Assign tasks to employees and monitor their activities; ensure maintenance area is neat and organized 
•    Ensure maintenance personnel are following all operational and health and safety procedures 
•    Supervise the preventive maintenance and repairs of all plant equipment 
•    Coordinate all major projects, ex. shut downs 
•    Manage the organization of maintenance shop and parts trailer 
•    Oversee mobile equipment maintenance i.e., forklift, track and back hoes and assist Maintenance Manager to ensure parts and supplies are in inventory 
•    Maintain working knowledge of plant equipment 
•    Welding, if qualified 
•    Pipe fitting 
•    Operate plant equipment and repair plant equipment 
•    Assist in performing daily inspections 
•    Other duties as assigned 
 
Qualifications 
•    A high school diploma or equivalent is required  
•    3 to 5 years of mechanical experience 
•    Previous management experience is a plus. The selected candidate will work independently with little to minimal supervision and frequently required to multi-task 
•    Ability to read equipment prints; secure information from OEM manuals; apply basic mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division and read, understand and apply common operational documents, SOP’s, and training modules 
•    The ability to drive a forklift and completion of OSHA lock out/tag out and confined space entry training may be required 
•    The selected candidate must successfully complete HAZWOPPER training (provided during first week of employment) 
•    must participate in an OSHA/HAZWOPER physical examination 
•    must have the ability to work occasional overtime and must be able to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen (urine and hair), and background check 
•    The ability to obtain a physician’s certification to wear a respirator is required 
•    The candidate must have own tools and valid driver's license 
•    The ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check, are required
