Our suitably qualified & experienced personnel provide unrivalled insight and practical experience for radioactive waste treatment services ranging from radiochemistry, treatment, encapsulation, size reduction, incineration, through to disposal. This gives us unparalleled scope and ability to provide innovative and integrated solutions to complex waste projects.
Tradebe are looking for an IT Infrastructure Engineer based at our Winfrith site, supporting sites in the South of the UK.
Main purpose of job
- The Engineer in conjunction with the wider IT team members and the third-party support company will be responsible for the planning, procurement, implementation, support, security, and management of information technology assets which support the multiple sites of Tradebe in the UK and the Nuclear Licensed site.
The role
- Supporting the deployed IT Infrastructure across the UK sites to provide a resilient, robust and reliable service.
- Regular system and network maintenance routines for networking, server, desktop, telephony and associated systems.
- Manage local IT purchasing requirements and manage corporate agreements across the UK, in conjunction with IT team members.
- Execution of tasks required to complete projects within the UK.
- Ensure compliance of documented policy, procedure and processes, and implementation of new governance where required.
- Maintain a good working knowledge of current and emerging technologies related to areas of responsibility, through independent research, and attending relevant conferences, trade shows, training and professional organization meetings.
- This role is to support all services at our nuclear site in Winfrith, and to work as part of a small IT function, alongside the alongside our helpdesk, supporting level 2 and 3 project calls for all Tradebe UK sites.
The person
- Proven experience in Information Technology, in a variety of roles related to infrastructure and operations
- This is a multi-site role and requires that the successful candidate hold a full valid driving license.
- Ability to engage at all levels, in a clear and simple way, to ensure understanding of the specific issues
- Experience with multi-site enterprise deployments. Network design, implementation, support and management preferred
- Experience in identifying routine IT tasks and activities, and their implementation.
- Experience supporting remote office and home office-based end users preferred
- SC clearance will be required for this role
