Main purpose of job:
• Directly responsible for the safe delivery of the operational works within Tradebe’s nuclear/radioactive Facility.
• To plan and deliver the work on time and to budget.
• Maintain & develop the compliance practices from an operational, compliance and H&S perspective.
• Manage the Operational team, keep them SQEP and on target with their Goals.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Responsible for safe and profitable delivery of all operational works (and where appropriate internal investment funded projects) on the Winfrith site whilst remaining compliant with all relevant legislation and internal procedures.
• To support the development and costing of new works and opportunities as required by the Tradebe Inutec Sales and Commercial Team.
• Responsible for the planning of all operational works to ensure the most efficient and safe working practices to maximise profitability.
• Responsible to report emerging project variance, particularly ones with potential adverse economic impact and to assist is taking appropriate mitigating action.
• Responsible for ensuring all programmed operations are delivered to achieve monthly forecasts against budget and time constraints.
• Responsible for the management and development of the staff falling in your direct control to ensure they are Suitably Qualified and Experienced to fulfil their duties.
• Ensure all staff under direct control are trained, briefed, and deemed competent to carry out their work.
• Ensure sufficient resource is maintained to allow the Operations Group to operate effectively.
• Set and monitor key objectives for direct reports and their performance on an ongoing basis in-line with PDR requirements
• Ensure radiological safety is maintained
• Responsible for supporting the development of new processes and the trialling of non-standard wastes
• Ensure all relevant staff, work and safety records are maintained and that adherence to systems and procedures are enforced and recorded. Work with the site management team where required to develop new methodologies and approaches to delivery in the operational functions at site.
The successful applicant will be highly competent in delivering radioactive waste management operations with an ability to lead a large team. They will have demonstrable competency in commitment, flexibility and pragmatism with skills team play and people development.

• Creative thinker and innovator.
• Good communicator with the ability to formulate and build good communication links with colleagues and customers alike.
• Working knowledge of H&S1974 Building Controls / CDM regulations
• Member of ILM,
• Passed SSSTS, CITB H&S Test
