Senior Environmental Counsel

Tradebe is seeking a Senior Environmental Counsel to partner with our business leaders to ensure compliance with RCRA, the Clean Water Act, the Clean Air Act, and other applicable environmental regulations. This role provides strategic legal and business counsel on environmental, regulatory, and operational matters while identifying and managing legal risks across the organization. The position may also support other areas of law, including corporate, commercial, labor and employment, real estate, dispute resolution, and business development (M&A).
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Provide counseling and environmental legal support including compliance assistance, support for environmental and other permits, interpretative guidance, agency negotiations and preventive law
- Identify and analyze environmental issues that impact the operation, execution, and success of the business
- Serve as a subject matter expert and provide senior advisory services to business partners
- Negotiate, coordinate, monitor and manage complex legal issues and make legal decisions
- Make recommendations to senior leaders on strategy and new initiatives, based on an in-depth understanding of the business
- Develops and implements programs, conducts presentations, and participates in other activities to educate Company employees as to the Company policies and procedures and legal compliance requirements
- Other duties as assigned
Do you have what it takes?
Required Qualifications – must have
Education:
- Law degree from an accredited law school required
- Member in good standing of at least one state bar required
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of practice required
- Knowledge of the environmental laws and RCRA regulatory experience
- Meaningful experience in handling other legal issues that arise in connection with operation of facilities and field services
- Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating vendor/customer contracts
- Experience giving management training
- Experience serving as effective spokesperson for the company in dealings with government regulators

- 6 years of environmental law practice and/or in-house counsel at environmental services company highly preferred

The annual salary for this position ranges from $160,000 to $190,000, depending on factors such as your location, experience, skills, and qualifications. Please note that the top end of the range is not guaranteed. This range is provided to offer transparency and should not be interpreted as a guaranteed offer. Final compensation will be determined through a thoughtful assessment of your background and fit for the role.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for bonus potential, in line with our company’s bonus policies.
