Job Title: Customer Service Specialist – Storage Terminal Operations

Location: Storage Terminal Port of Barcelona - Carrer del Port de Ningbó, Moll de l'Energia
Department: Commercial
Reports To: Commercial Director


Job Purpose:

To ensure an excellent customer experience by managing client requests, coordinating terminal services, and supporting operational execution. The role is crucial in maintaining strong client relationships, optimizing service delivery, and ensuring that terminal operations align with customer expectations. The ideal candidate is fluent in English and Spanish, highly proactive, and thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced industrial environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the main point of contact for clients using the terminal, ensuring timely and professional communication in English and Spanish.
  • Coordinate scheduling and documentation of product movements (inbound/outbound), liaising with operations, logistics providers, and customs agents.
  • Follow up on vessel, truck, and railcar operations, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and terminal capabilities.
  • Prepare and manage documentation such as nominations, delivery notes, loading/discharge plans, and invoices.
  • Ensure accurate data entry into terminal and ERP systems for inventory, product movements, and billing purposes.
  • Monitor and report on service KPIs and customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Anticipate customer needs and proactively suggest improvements or solutions to potential operational bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate closely with the operations team to solve day-to-day issues and align priorities.
  • Support audits, safety compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives relevant to the customer interface.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience in a customer service, logistics, or commercial support role in industrial, energy, or chemical sectors (terminals, tank farms, or logistics is a plus).
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Proactive mindset, able to anticipate and resolve issues independently.
  • Comfortable working closely with operational teams and under time pressure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of ERP or terminal management systems is preferred.
